About Chris Vaughn
My
name is Chris Vaughn and I am proud to let you know that I am a
candidate for GA State Representative in District 59. I have spent
years working as a community organizer and political activist on the
local and state level.
I am a Georgian through and through. I was born in Atlanta
at Grady Hospital and raised primarily in Dekalb County, where I
attended Fernbank Elementary and Lakeside High School. After
graduating high school, I studied Speech Pathology and worked on
several political campaigns before starting my own business. I
currently run a Public Relations and Strategic Marketing Firm.
Today, I live in Thomasville Heights – a historic community in
Southeast Atlanta. My home was built by my great-grandparents nearly
50 years ago. I returned to my childhood home to preserve my history
and put down new roots. After experiencing a break-in or two, I
immediately got involved in my local Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU-Z).
Currently, I serve on the Executive Board as the Assistant
Secretary. I also was elected to represent the City of Atlanta as
the Corresponding Secretary for the
Atlanta Planning Advisory Board. In this capacity I work
directly with various community leaders and city officials helping
to shape public policy for the City of Atlanta.
I care deeply about our community and want to be a part of seeing
our In-town Neighborhoods exhibit a high quality of life, welcome
diversity, win good value for the tax dollars we pay, and protect
the seniors in our community.
Experienced Leader, Committed To Service!
I am already extremely involved in our community and I hope to
bring my knowledge and experience to the Georgia Legislature.
